Where to watch a SpaceX launch from Cape Canaveral

SpaceX flies Falcon 9 from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and Falcon 9/Falcon Heavy from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center. Where you stand depends on the pad: Titusville looks straight across the Indian River at 39A, while Jetty Park and Port Canaveral are closest to the Cape pads. Launch times slip often โ€” check our live launch schedule on the day.

๐Ÿ“ Viewing spots

Space View Park

Titusville

Max Brewer Bridge & causeway

Titusville

Causeway on SR-406 toward Merritt Island NWR. Shoreline areas along the causeway offer wide-open views across the river; parking on the causeway shoulders/park areas fills up quickly. Do not stop on the bridge itself. Cost: Free.

Playalinda Beach (Canaveral National Seashore)

Titusville side

Very close views of the LC-39 pads. CLOSURE NOTE: NASA/NPS frequently close Playalinda (and parts of Merritt Island NWR) for launches from 39A/39B and some other operations โ€” check the Canaveral National Seashore alerts page (nps.gov/cana) before going. Gates close when lots fill; limited capacity. Cost: Entrance fee (NPS pass accepted).

๐Ÿšค Watching from the water

Some operators out of Port Canaveral and the Indian River run launch-viewing cruises and boat tours. Availability, prices and launch-day guarantees vary by operator โ€” read the cancellation terms carefully, because launches scrub regularly.

FAQ

Where is the best free place to watch a SpaceX launch?

Space View Park and the Max Brewer causeway in Titusville for Kennedy Space Center pad 39A, and Jetty Park at Port Canaveral for the Cape Canaveral pads. Arrive early for big launches.

Can you see a SpaceX launch from Orlando?

Often yes โ€” a Falcon 9 ascent is usually visible from Orlando, roughly 50 miles away, but you will only see the rocket after it clears the horizon. For the full experience, drive to the coast.

Should I stay in Cocoa Beach or Titusville?

Titusville is closest to Kennedy Space Center pad 39A; Cocoa Beach has more beach hotels and is a good base for Cape Canaveral launches and night launches up the coast.

What happens if the launch is scrubbed?

Launches are frequently delayed. Build in an extra day, choose refundable bookings, and check the schedule on the morning of launch.
